Elliott Sadler produced a runner-up finish in the NASCAR Nationwide Series Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton on Sunday. Sadler, second in the season points standings, failed a post-race height inspection, according to NASCAR officials. At a weekly competition committee meeting, NASCAR penalized the No. 2 team, fining crew chief Luke Lambert $10,000 and docking Sadler and owner DeLana Harvick six points apiece.
Sadler now trails Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 winner and defending season points champion Ricky Stenhouse Jr. by 34 points.
