Some Cedar Rapids school employees to work four-day weeks this summer

Cedar Rapids Community School District support offices at the ESC at Kingston campus, 931 Blairs Ferry, and the district's transportation site will operate on a four-day work week from June 14 to July 30 to cut costs, district officials said today.
During this time, offices in these locations will be open
Monday to Thursday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The summer schedule will allow the district to lower utility costs by raising office thermostats and not operating equipment Friday - Sunday. All district offices will return to the Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule on Monday, Aug. 2.
Individual schools will communicate summer office hours by the end of the school year; building hours will also be posted at each school.
