Iowa, ISU hoops debut in polls
Nov. 18, 2013 11:09 am
Both Iowa and Iowa State men's basketball programs entered the rankings for the first time this season.
Iowa debuted at No. 25 in the USA Today/Coaches poll, which was released today. Iowa State was ranked 21st by the Associated Press.
It's the first time Iowa has been ranked since March 28, 2006, when the Hawkeyes were No. 23 and coached by Steve Alford.
The Hawkeyes (4-0), ironically, are ranked one spot below UCLA, who is led by Alford. ISU's ranking is its best since the 2000-2001 season.
In the coaches' poll, Iowa State received votes. Iowa received votes in the AP poll.
