Iowa wins NIT opener, beats Dayton 84-75

IOWA CITY - Aaron White scored 25 points and Zach McCabe added 20 to lift Iowa to a 84-75 victory against Dayton in a first-round NIT game Tuesday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa (18-16) shot nearly 57 percent from the field and scored 48 points in the paint.
Iowa will play the winner of LSU/Oregon at a date to be determined.

IOWA CITY - Zach McCabe scored 16 points and Iowa shot 60 percent from the field as the Hawkeyes took a 44-41 halftime lead over Dayton in an NIT first-round game tonight at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa (17-16) hit its first eight shots and 18-of-30 overall against the Flyers. The Hawkeyes had 14 assists on its 18 baskets.
McCabe was 7-for-7 from the field and 1-for-1 from the free-throw line. Kevin Dillard scored 13 points on three 3-pointers to lead the Flyers (20-13). Dayton outrebounded Iowa 21-13 and outscored Iowa 17-4 in second-chance points. Iowa scored 24 points in the paint.
Iowa leads 10-0 in fast-break points.
