Cedar Rapids man accused of assaulting children's mother during break-in

A Cedar Rapids man is accused of assaulting the mother of his four children during a break-in earlier this month.
According to the Linn County Attorney's Office, on Jan. 18, Edrean K. E. Ayers, 24; Eddie Ayers III, 18; and Dakota A. Moser, 18; all of Cedar Rapids forced their way into 4008 Wilson Ave. SW No. 6. Authorities said Chazman Sykora, the mother of Edrean Ayers' four children, lives at that address.
According to court records, the three men and other accomplices assaulted Wade Burrell, another occupant of the residence. Authorities said the suspects hit and kicked Burrell in the head, causing him serious injuries. Sykora was injured during the break-in.
All three men face charges of first-degree burglary and willful injury. Edrean Ayers faces an additional charge of domestic abuse causing bodily injury.
