Watch Drew Ott eat a raw egg at Big Ten media days

CHICAGO – Why take the time to fry an egg when you could just eat it whole – shell included?

That seems to be Iowa defensive lineman Drew Ott's rationale, at least.

The Hawkeye senior showed off his talents for ESPN at Big Ten media days.

The whole thing started as a way to earn a little extra allowance.

'When I was a little kid, my uncle bet me $5 that I couldn't eat a raw egg,” Ott told the network.

'It kind of makes you gag the first time, so he thought I was gonna puke a little bit, but I got it down and got my $5.”

Now, he seems used to the taste.

'I just do it to eat it if I'm feeling kind of lazy on a Sunday and don't want to cook the eggs and just eat them.”

Perhaps we've learned Ott's secret to becoming a two-time hay bale toss champion.
