Barbara Frances Quigley, 72, passed away at
UnityPoint-St. Luke's Hospital on Thursday,
March 25, 2021, surrounded
by her family.
A public visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom. As mandated by proclamation, social distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people to be allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields are required. A private Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, with Father Douglas Loecke officiating.
Barbara was born on July 17, 1948, in New York, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Albert and Shirley (McLaughlin) Quigley. Barbara worked as a bus driver for the Cedar Rapids Public School System for several years. Barbara was a lover of all animals, especially dogs, cats and wildlife her and Mac would see while camping. She raised dogs such as Siberian Huskies her entire life. Barbara enjoyed watching television, especially tv shows having to do with aquariums and zoos. Barbara was also a Master Scuba Diver.
Those left to cherish Barbara's memory are her life-partner of 35 years, Mac "Della" McMillen of Cedar Rapids; and her sister, Dianne Robinson of Gig Harbor, Wash.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Iowa Humane Alliance.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff of nurses and doctors at St. Luke's Hospice for all of the excellent care and support they showed Barbara while she was in their care.
