Cedar Rapids schools to hold make up day Feb. 16
Jan. 13, 2015 2:13 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - The Cedar Rapids Community School District will hold classes on Feb. 16 to make up the hours lost last week to weather-related delays and cancellations, the district said Monday.
On that Monday, which was designated as a make up day on the district's calendar, Cedar Rapids schools will hold a full day of classes. Morning and afternoon preschool and alternative kindergarten classes will not be held.
The district lost 10 total instructional hours to weather-related decisions the week of Jan. 5, when a snowstorm and subzero temperatures struck Cedar Rapids.
The make up day Feb. 16 will not account for all 10 of the lost hours. The district said it will decide how to make up the remaining hours at a later date.
