To the editor:
Recently, my husband and I attended a wonderful performance of 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at Marion's Giving Tree Theater. It was delightful family entertainment.
Giving Tree Theater has been open for nearly a year and has presented many excellent plays. The theater is a great venue for the many talented performers of all ages, directors and technical crew in the community. The atmosphere in the theater is cozy and intimate. Patrons may choose auditorium, cafe, or living room seating. Giving Tree Theater benefits the community by providing enjoyable, quality entertainment and in another unique way. The cast of each show chooses a local non-profit organization to receive a portion of the ticket proceeds. The cast of the current show has chosen to contribute to The Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids. There is a great variety of shows scheduled for this winter and spring. I recommend that you check out the theater website, givingtreetheater.com, and take in a show or two. I hope to see you there.
Marion and the greater Cedar Rapids community are blessed in that Heather and Richie Akers, owners of Giving Tree Theater, brought their vision to Uptown Marion.
