CORALVILLE - A Hope House resident who left the corrections facility without permission in May was found and arrested in Linn County on Sunday.
Sylvester V. Campbell, 27, left the Hope House, 2501 Holiday Rd., Coralville, without staff knowledge or permission at approximately 11:52 a.m. on May 28.
A complaint, which accused Campbell of escape, a Class D felony, was filed in Johnson County District Court on May 31. The complaint also stated that his whereabouts were unknown.
On Sunday, Campbell was pulled over in Linn County on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. Campbell allegedly provided the officer with a false name and had no drivers license or insurance, according to Linn County Correctional Center records.
After he was arrested Campbell was returned to Johnson County, where he was being held at the Johnson County Jail on a $5,000 forfeitable bond and $17,500 cash bond on Tuesday.
Iowa Court Records indicate that Campbell was on two years of supervised probation after being convicted of fourth-degree theft and second-degree attempted burglary in 2008. His absence from the facility was in violation of his terms of probation.
