Ushers Ferry serves up two delicious spring programs

Cedar Rapids, IA – March 28, 2012 – The Cedar Rapids Parks & Recreation Department's Ushers Ferry Historic Village, 5925 Seminole Valley Tr. NE, is offering two programs on April 14 that feature delicious foods.
“Make Breakfast with Dad” is Saturday, April 14 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Fathers and children (ages 6 and up) will learn to make breakfast the old-fashioned way – over a wood fire. They will make poached eggs on toast and learn how to care for the outdoorsman's favorite piece of cookware, the cast iron skillet. The fee is $4/child and $8/adult for residents and $7/child and $11/adult for non-residents. Advance registration is required. Adults should register for program #414708-03 and children for program #414708-04.
“Chocolate and Coffee” is on also on Saturday, April 14 from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. Adults, ages 18 and up, are invited to spend a decadent afternoon in the Ushers Ferry Hotel learning about the different elements of coffee and how to truly “taste” chocolate. Mickey Miller of Mount Vernon Confections and Aaron Murphy from The Early Bird in downtown Cedar Rapids will share their vast knowledge of this dynamic duo. The fee is $12 for residents and $15 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required for program #114902-01.
