Clark, Jesse James 'Dolemite'
Jesse James “Dolemite” Clark, 58, of 3315 Eastern Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, in Living Center West, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Greenview Cemetery, Nesbitt, Miss.
Survivors include his wife, Earnestine; his children, Jessica Franklin, Derwin Franklin-Clark, Jerome Shorty and Tamera Adams; stepchildren, Carla Howard, Monica Howard, Shatani Buck and Melissa Carr; three grandchildren, Terrika, Jerrod and Jocelyn; and siblings, Gladys (Earl) Woodson, Margaret Johnson, Melody Singleton, Foyice (Cheryl) Clark Jr. and Dennis Clark.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Derwin Clark.
Born Sept. 26, 1951, in Senatobia, Miss., Jesse was the son of Foyice and Lillie (Bowser) Clark. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Earnestine Franklin on Feb. 3, 2001, in Galesburg, Ill.
Jesse was a member of Bethel AME Church.
