Vehicle hits Cedar Rapids house, causing gas leak
CEDAR RAPIDS - The occupants and neighbors of a home on the northwest side of Cedar Rapids were evacuated Sunday morning after a vehicle crashed into the house causing a gas leak.
Cedar Rapids police responded to 4310 Midway Drive NW at 9:38 a.m. for a report of a collision involving a vehicle that struck the house.
Officers found the driver and he was transported to a local hospital, according to a news release from the Cedar Rapids Police Department. The name of the driver was not immediately released by police officials.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
The Cedar Rapids Fire Department assisted with the crash and gas leak.
