Wells Fargo Arena to host 2013 NCAA Wrestling tourney

According to media outlets in Central Iowa, the 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships will be held at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

Des Moines was one of finalists to host the national tournament.

Wells Fargo Arena, the host of the IHSAA state wrestling tournament, had been subject to criticism of being too small for a major NCAA event. Iowa State University will likely be the host school. It would be the first time the tournament in Iowa since 2001, when the University of Iowa hosted in Iowa City and placed second (Minnesota won it) with three finalists, including two champions in Eric Juergens and T.J.
