Solon residents unable to dial 911 on landline phones

Solon area residents may not be able to reach emergency services when using a landline to dial 9-1-1.
The Johnson County Sheriff's Department said that phone lines with a 644 prefix would not be able to reach emergency authorities or other phone lines without a 644 prefix. Residents are encouraged to utilize cell phones or a landline without a 644 prefix to call the Sheriff's Office or other emergency agencies.
Iowa Telecom is working to return 911 services to Solon area residents.
