Diane Keaton blazed a trail for Fran McCaffery

Feb. 10, 2015 2:57 pm
Eight years before Iowa men's basketball coach gave a terse 'Because I said so,” as an answer to a question at his postgame press conference Sunday, Diane Keaton starred in a romantic comedy called 'Because I Said So.”
I'd never heard of it before this week. The movie, that is, not the expression.
The movie poster here features Keaton and Mandy Moore. I'm assuming Keaton is just gesturing rather than getting ready to, you know, poke Moore in the eye.
Judging by Keaton's smile, I'll assume no actors suffered blurred vision in the making of this film.
Sadly, according to Rotten Tomatoes, the critics weren't any kinder to the movie than national pundits were about McCaffery's postgame comments.
