SOLON — Solon senior Tyler Linderbaum has been selected to participate in the 2018 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, it was announced Monday.
The game is January 6 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. It features 100 of the top senior prep football players in the country.
'It's a pretty cool honor,' said Linderbaum, a verbal commit to the University of Iowa. 'Just to be able to represent Solon and the Hawkeyes, that's pretty cool.'
The game will be televised live at 1 p.m. on NBC. Linderbaum is a 6-foot-3, 270-pounder who is projected as a defensive tackle at the college level.
'I found out a couple of weeks ago,' Linderbaum said. 'I didn't know if I should put it Twitter or not ... Looking forward to it.'
Solon (9-0) hosts Decorah (7-2) in a Class 3A state playoff game Friday night.
