SOLON - For the first time since the 2006 state finals, Solon is out of the high school football playoffs.
Union of La Porte City's senior running back Wes Burnside shouldered the load. Sophomore quarterback Jay Scheel delivered in the clutch. And Union snapped Solon's eight-game win streak with a 39-24 victory in a second-round, Class 3-A football playoff on Monday.
