My dad was a small town school superintendent. One of his most important tasks was putting together a strong faculty. One time he said, 'I have teachers with thirty years of experience - and teachers who have had a year of experience thirty times.” I didn't quite get his point then. As I watch the 2020 presidential campaign, I see his point very clearly.
Pete Buttigieg is long on talent and short on experience. He has been the mayor of a city no bigger than a Michigan home football game. He isn't even 40 years old. He's a character in a John Mellencamp song. So what?
Pete Buttigieg has vision, creativity, judgment and, yes, wisdom. He is ready for this moment in history and we are ready, eager, for his leadership. We need to put a bright, young, military veteran in the White House next year. OK, Boomers?
One more Neil Boyle nugget: 'Son, you can learn what they know a lot faster than they can learn what you know.” Sounds like Pete to me.
Caucus for Buttigieg, for America and for yourself on February 3rd.
