CORALVILLE -- Iowa's largest credit union is planning to open an office in Coralville, its seventh location in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City Corridor.
Veridian Credit Union, based in Waterloo, will break ground Thursday, May 5, at 604 Second St. in Coralville. The 4,000-square-foot facility will be a full-service branch with three drive-up lanes, a drive-up ATM, six teller stations, a self-serve coin machine, safe-deposit boxes and office space for mortgage and consumer lending.
Veridian, with 25 offices throughout the state, expects to occupy the Coralville branch in the fall of this year. The credit union currently has five offices in the Cedar Rapids area and a branch in Iowa City.
"We're thrilled to continue our expansion with a new location in the Corridor," said Justin Mager, Veridian regional manager. "The new branch will provide more convenient services to our existing members in the Corridor and bring the opportunity to develop new relationships in a vibrant community like Coralville."
The new branch is expected to be a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building. LEED determination is based on environmental impact categories: sustainable sites, energy and atmosphere, indoor environmental quality, water efficiency, materials and resources, and innovation in design.
Primus Construction Inc. of Cedar Rapids is the designer and general contractor.
