The Election Services Department of the Linn County Auditor's Office will be open Saturday, June 2 in support of the June 5, 2012 Primary Elections. Absentee ballots will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. These hours are in addition to the normal Monday through Friday office hours for absentee voting. June 4 is the last day to vote absentee.
In a Primary Election, Democratic and Republican Party voters select the candidates they want to see move on to the General Election Ballot. Voters must be registered as a Democrat or a Republican in order to receive that party's ballot. Voters may register with a party or change their party affiliation when requesting a ballot, including at their polling place on Election Day.
The Election Services Department is located at Linn County West, 2500 Edgewood Rd. SW. Voters are encouraged to park and enter at the north entrance to Linn County West. Access is also available from within Westdale Mall in the lower level near Lens Crafters.
