Kevin Gene Coder, 62, of Scotch Grove, Iowa, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021, in his Florida home. He was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Kenneth and Betty Coder on July 16, 1958.
Kevin worked as a manufacturer of hammer handles for Wayne Manufacturing for over 20 years, and was very proud of his craft. He was a nature enthusiast, and was most at home in the woods, hunting mushrooms and ginseng, and on the lakes and rivers, casting for the next big catch.
Kevin was married to his best friend and the love of his life, Teresa Coder, on Feb. 28, 1998. They were married 23 years.
He is survived by his spouse; his children, Craig (Elizabeth) and Kevin (Sara) Coder; his stepchildren, Daniel (Jessica) Walker and Stephanie (Adam) Glubka; his father, Kenneth (Jan) Coder; stepfather, Lonnie Ellsworth; his 15 grandchildren; brother, Kenny; sisters, Connie (Gary), Karan (Dennis) and Dixie (Rusty); and his many nieces and nephews.
Kevin was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Betty Ellsworth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Teresa Coder, 11482 172nd St., Scotch Grove, IA 52310.
The funeral service will be held at Scotch Grove Cemetery at a time to be determined.
