GAS PUMP ACCESSIBILITY
N/A
Mar. 10, 2014 6:11 pm
The Senate approved, 32-14, legislation calling for gas stations to improve accessibility for those with disabilities at their gas pumps. The revised bill would give retailers a $500 tax credit if they chose to install new pumps or retrofit existing ones with buttons that can be pressed form within a car to call for assistance. Stations would have to display signage when their assistance services would be available and wouldn't be required to always provide these services. Retail stations with two employees or fewer working at one time and satellite stations would be exempt.
