Lois Darlene Fisher, 97, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed on Friday, March 26, 2021, at The Gardens in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. A private service will take place at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Burial to follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A livestream of the funeral service may be accessed on the funeral home website under the obituary for Lois Darlene Fisher, under the video tab starting at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2.
Following the continued guidance from health officials, physical distancing must be practiced, which requires a limited number of people allowed into the visitation at one time. The use of face masks or shields is required."
Lois Darlene Fisher was born April 28, 1923, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of Marion and Coral (Draper) Eakins. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1941. Following graduation, she attended business college. She was united in marriage to James Fisher on April 18, 1942, in Staten Island, NY. Lois was employed at Collins Radio and retired from Link-Belt (FMC Corporation) as a steal buyer. Lois enjoyed traveling, shopping, needle work, and especially time with her family and friends. She was a 50-year member of the National T.T.T. Chapter CJ and active in the VA Fleet Reserve. Lois will always be remembered for being a loving and wonderful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
Lois is survived by her children, Jim Fisher of Anamosa, Iowa, and Judy Hunter of Fairfield, Iowa; five grandchildren, Jodie, Sandy, Dennis, Abby and Emily; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Fisher; five siblings, Geraldine, Jean, Donald, Ronald and Lelona; and a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Fisher.
