In about three weeks, the people in Iowa can caucus for an honest leader with the courage to take on powerful interests and fight for justice.
Bernie Sanders will put Americans back to work by creating millions of good paying jobs as we rebuild our crumbling roads and infrastructure. He will increase the minimum wage to a living wage, and will strengthen the middle class by making public college and universities tuition free. He will make the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. He will ensure that all communities have access quality schools and credit on fair terms.
As mayor of Burlington, Vt., he was named one America's best mayors. In Congress, he has fought for working families and stood on principle for expanding civil rights, opposing the Iraq War and fighting for veterans, to protect American jobs, and to make college more affordable.
He is running for president to make America a more fair and just place for his grand kids and for all of our children. We have a moral obligation to provide the best quality care to those who have put their lives on the line to defend us. That includes caring for the spouses and children who have lost a loved one and includes caring for the hundreds of thousands of veterans with amputations, post-traumatic brain injury, and other injuries. As president, Bernie Sanders will fully fund and expand the VA so that every veteran gets the care they have earned and deserve.
