Iowa City school board candidates step forward

IOWA CITY - Two people have thrown their hats in the ring for the Iowa City school board election Sept. 8.
Incumbent Mike Cooper of North Liberty announced today that he would seek re-election. Newcomer April Armstrong of Iowa City filed nomination papers Friday afternoon.

There are three seats up for election. Candidates must file by Thursday.
Update: The school district says Jean Jordison of Iowa City also filed nomination papers today
