Uptown Marion Market this Saturday, July 9

The 2nd Annual Uptown Marion Market presented by St. Luke's Hospital and produced by the Marion Chamber of Commerce is happening this Saturday, July 9 from 7:30 a.m. – noon in Uptown Marion's City Square Park.

This year's market will feature over 50 vendors with fresh produce, flowers, baked goods, honey, organic meat and cheeses, Iowa wines, salsa, jellies and an array of artisan items. In addition, food vendors will be onsite to offer a variety of take-and-eat items including everything from breakfast burritos to gyros, BBQ and gourmet hot dogs.

Healthy living programming will also be offered during each Uptown Marion Market. St. Luke's Hospital will be handing out bike helmets for children (while supplies last) and the Marion Police Department will have their Bike Patrol on-site offering bike safety checks. St. Luke's will also have their V-24 “Bat Boat” onsite. The “Bat Boat” is a new and unique way St. Luke's hospital is educating the community about the importance of early detection for breast cancer. Iowa State University Extension's Master Gardener Plant Doctors, Marion Fire Department and Linn County Conservation Department will also offering programming throughout the July 9 market.

9:00 a.m. – noon Oscar Rosales, balloon artist

9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Live music by Jonny Lipford (Native American Flute)

8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Hy-Vee Dietitian Market Fresh Cooking Demos

8:00 – 11:00 a.m. Master Gardener Plant Doctors

Uptown Marion Market is held the 2nd Saturday of each month, June – August (June 11, July 9 and August 13) from 7:30 a.m. – noon in Uptown Marion's City Square Park.
