CORALVILLE — A Coralville man has been arrested after police say he was stabbed in the arm during a domestic dispute by the daughter of the woman he was reportedly attacking.
Police were called to the Suburban Extended Stay motel, 2491 Holiday Rd., around 10 p.m. Thursday after Arsenio Silas, 26, reportedly grabbed a woman by the neck and arms during a fight. Police say Silas had been living with the woman '6 months of the last year.'
During the altercation, the victim's 16-year-old daughter 'stabbed the offender in the arm with a steak knife,' according to Lt. Shane Kron of the Coralville Police Department.
Silas then fled from the hotel, according to police. A criminal complaint states he was arrested in the 1300 block of First Avenue in Coralville about an hour after police were first called to the hotel. Police identified him though booking photos and 'an injury he sustained during the altercation,' according to complaints.
Silas faces charges of domestic abuse and interference with official acts. He also faces an assault charge for grabbing and throwing the 16-year-old girl to the ground during the incident, according to police documents.
