RAGBRAI Day 6: The ride rolls into Iowa City

SIGOURNEY - Cyclists will pedal into the heart of Hawkeye country on the leisurely rolling hills of Eastern Iowa. It will be the first time RAGBRAI has stopped overnight in Iowa City in 42 years.
Day 6 take off from Sigourney and includes stops in Harper, Keota, Wellman, Kalona, which is the meeting town, Riverside, and Hills before reaching Iowa City.
The route travels north and east and clocks in at 57.6 miles and 1,413 feet of climb.
Today has been designated as 'college jersey day,” when riders don a jersey for of their alma mater. Other highlights include the Amish and Mennonite influences in Kalona, which also is known Kalona Cheese House, Kalona Brewing Co. and quilting.
Iowa City is planning a blowout with musical performances by Blitzen Trapper and the Jayhawks and a downtown block party.
