Weeks, Janice K.
Janice K. Weeks, 72, of 834 S. Ward St., Ottumwa, died at 3:33 p.m. Aug. 24, 2012, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born June 9, 1940, in Ottumwa, Iowa, to Richard and Frances Anthony Stephenson. She married Sylvanis “Van” Weeks on Aug. 31, 1957. She lived in Cedar Rapids from 1978 to 1993, then to Eldon until 2003, when she moved to Ottumwa.
She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother and was a great cook. She worked 12 years for McAninch Corporation as a heavy equipment operator. She was a member of Operating Engineers Local 234.
Surviving are her husband, Van; three daughters, Pamela (Mark) Pannell of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ann Krueger of Cedar Rapids and Kathy Adams (Gary) of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Aaron Pannell, Lisa Morales, Jason and Bryce Krueger, John and Jennifer Daniels, Jerry Adams, Jessica Heisdorffer and Jon Vozenilek; 13 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Pat Robertson of Cedar Rapids and Jean (Ron) Like of Kansas City, Kan.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Vanessa Wenzel; two sons-in-law, Wayne Krueger and Mike Vozenilek; and a brother-in-law, Jack Robertson.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa, with Pastor Larry Smith officiating. Cremation will follow services. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
Memorials may be made to Bladensburg Christian Church, Ottumwa.
