Easily Remembered

Mar. 1, 2012 10:31 am
I have a confession. I am terrible at remembering names. I remember faces really well. I just don't put the correct name with the face. Consider it an occupational hazard with the number of interactions I have on a daily basis.
There are some people I meet that leave a strong impression. Shared interests. A strong personality. A unique name. There's just something that makes a connection in my mind.
Larry McKinnon is one of those people. I'm not sure of when I first met Larry. It was either on the sidelines of a high school football game or the infield of Hawkeye Downs on a Friday night. We share a love of photography. His barber shop in northwest Cedar Rapids has many of his photos that he's taken of customers and/or their children displayed on the wall. He even has a few newspaper clippings of photos with my byline on them. What an ego boost to see those displayed on the wall when ever I go in there.
