Each year, KCCK radio invites a native Iowan leading the national jazz scene to come home for a headline appearance. Chad Eby grew up in Newhall and graduated from Luther College. He now teaches in the Miles Davis Jazz Studies Program at University of North Carolina-Greensboro, where he became friends with fellow faculty member, award-winning pianist and singer Ariel Pocock. While not an Iowa native, Pocock played some of her first professional gigs in the Corridor. The two will showcase their new release, 'BFFs,” and area high school students will join them onstage.
KCCK's Homecoming: BFFs
7:30 p.m. Saturday (11/2), Coralville Center for the Performing Arts, 1301 Fifth St., Coralville; $47 adults, $17 students; venue box office, (319) 248-9370 or Coralvillearts.org
