IOWA CITY - Two teenagers face charges in connection with the robbery of a 39-year-old pizza delivery man in southeast Iowa City last month.
Lamar C. Wilson, 15, of 19 Coneflower Ct., and Osean D. Horton, 14, of 2401 Highway 6 E, Apt. 3601, both face charges of aiding and abetting second-degree robbery and criminal gang participation. Both were taken to the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center Thursday.
Both teens are accused of being part of a self-identified street gang dubbed the “Broadway Goons.” Police say a group ordered a pizza and had it delivered to 61 Regal Lane, an address not associated with suspects. When the delivery man arrived just after 1 a.m. on July 25, he was ambushed, rushed and assaulted by a group of 10 to 15 people, who hit him over the head and took the pizza.
Iowa City Police are continuing to investigate the incident and charges are pending against additional suspects.
