Suspicious package at University of Iowa was empty suitcase

IOWA CITY - Johnson County officials have given the 'all clear” at the University of Iowa after a suspicious package found near the UI's main library was found to be an empty suitcase.
Around 11:05 a.m., the official University of Iowa Twitter accounted tweeted: 'Hawk Alert: Bomb squad investigating suspicious package south of main library, please stay clear. Updates to follow.”
Multiple police vehicles as well as the Johnson County Metro Bomb Squad truck responded to the scene. Many first year students arrived to campus this weekend before classes start next week.
