A trio of freshmen lawmakers who will represent parts of Linn County in the Iowa Legislature recently shared their thoughts on the upcoming session.
Representatives-elect Daniel Lundby of Marion and Quentin Stanerson of Center Point and Senator-elect Dan Zumbach of Ryan recently joined James Lynch of The Gazette and TheGazette.com to talk about the session that begins Jan. 14 in Des Moines.
Lundby represents House 68 that includes Marion and stretches south to Bertram and Ely. Stanerson's House 95 stretches across the northern half of Linn County and south to Mount Vernon-Lisbon. Ryan's Senate 48, which includes House 95, covers Delaware County and parts of Linn, Buchanan and Jones counties.
Although the freshmen won't be sworn into office until Monday, they've been busy since the day after the Nov. 6 election meeting with constituents and interest groups to discuss legislative proposals.
