It's the end of pool season, and that means the dogs of Cedar Rapids got their day at the K9Splash at Bever Park Pool.
K9COLA, or Citizens for Off-Leash Areas in Cedar Rapids, splits proceeds from the event with the Cedar Rapids Parks and Recreation Department. Marie Appel, Chairman of the K9COLA Board of Directors, says funds from the event have contributed to the addition of off-leash parks in the city, as well as agility equipment, benches, and two pavilions in the Canine Acres park. She estimates that Cedar Rapids has roughly twenty acres of off-leash parks, with two more parks coming soon.
