Change of course for Aune

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Jacob Aune has changed his collegiate plans.
Different college, different sport.
Aune, a senior at Cedar Rapids Prairie, said Tuesday that he will enroll at Iowa State University and walk on to the cross country and track program.
He will study kinesiology.
"I started thinking about it a couple weeks before the Drake Relays," Aune said. "I took my official visit and I loved it."
Aune originally intended to play basketball at Coe College.
He was part of Prairie's Drake-champion 1,600-meter relay two weeks ago and a member of the Hawks' state-champion cross country team in 2010. He will compete at a Class 4A district meet Thursday at Iowa City West.
