CENTER POINT — Myles Bach will try to add to his state-championship haul in a new uniform.
Bach confirmed Friday that he is enrolled for the 2017-18 school year at Center Point-Urbana.
'Our house is for sale, and we are looking to move,' said the senior-to-be, who helped lead Marion to a Class 3A boys' state track and field championship in May. 'I will be eligible right away, and that's really all I can say at this point.'
CPU Athletics Director Scott Kriegel also confirmed Bach's enrollment.
'It's an open-enroll situation at this time, but Myles is eligible for varsity competition immediately,' Kriegel said.
Bach was a four-time state track champion at Marion, sweeping the 1,600- and 3,200-meter races as a sophomore and as a junior. He was a state cross country runner-up — to former teammate Jeremy Fopma — last fall.
'I'm excited to run for CPU,' Bach said. 'Coach (Amy) Marshall, I think I can learn a lot from her.
'I've been running 80 miles a week. I want to go up there and win a state (cross country) championship this fall.'
Bach is uncommitted for college, saying his top choices at this point are Gonzaga, Northern Colorado and Buffalo.
