CEDAR RAPIDS — The Cedar Rapids evacuation zone along the Cedar River has been reduced.
City officials announced Wednesday the zone had been reduced from a 28-foot inundation zone to 24 feet.
In addition, Cedar Rapids City Hall will be closed for the next 30 days, officials said. While the Cedar Rapids Public Library is outside the evacuation zone, it will remain closed until next week.
While the reduced zone means some businesses are now outside the evacuation area, city officials ask businesses not to reopen just yet to keep traffic down near the existing evacuation zone.
