Twisters’ Amelia Berger wins 4 state gymnastics titles

WAUKEE — Amelia Berger of Cedar Rapids Twisters Gymnastics won four events at the Xcel State Championships last weekend, capturing the vault, bars, floor exercise and all around in the gold division.
Delaney Quinn (vault, beam, floor) and Addi Crilly (beam, floor, all around) won three titles each in the bronze division and Blair Pladsen (bars, floor, all around) was a triple winner in platinum and Skylar Meyers (vault, floor, all around) in diamond. Double winners were Marissa Rahe (floor, all round) and Clark Thurm (vault, floor) in bronze, Avery Basquin (beam, floor) in silver and Hannah Roth (vault, floor) in gold.
Other Twisters state champs were Greely Sloan (beam), Audrey Beatty (floor), Whitney Fischer (beam), Mya Siebels (beam), Grace Ulferts (beam), Katelyn Wallrichs (beam), Brycelynn Hitchinson (floor) and Caya Engen (floor) in bronze; Eve Hansen (floor), Katie Hurkett (floor), Loralei Wilson (beam) and Larissa Cleveland (floor) in silver; Maya Karl beam) in gold; and Gabby Kroeze (bars) in platinum.
The Twisters' bronze and diamond teams won state titles, the gold team finished second and platinum third.
Bronze placewinners were Brynlee Bettcher, Lydia Eley, Aubreyanna Dvorak, Kayla Moorman, Ashlynn Chai, Noelle Lynch, Ella Duffy, Ellie Evers, Elsie Ledger, Samantha Hein, Raelynn Fitzpatrick, Kayla Gilmore, Natalie Bielby, Ashley Meyers, Maggie Goldberg, Kayley Harney, Ally Olmstead, Annabelle Neal, Ilish Rodeffer. Aubrey Sires placed in silver, along with Katelyn Callahan, Angelina Rupert, Meghan Burtis, Lauren Carnahan, Cora Spiegelhalter, Ava Tuchel and Ollie Kress.
Gold placewinners were Rebecca Hein, Audrey Leno, Jasmine Hartney, Madison Marcus, Elizabeth Schultz, Abigail Green, Mary Morrow, Allie Long, Emma Herold, Ellie Martens and Leah Crilley; platinum placewinners were Brook Pladsen, Kaitlin Hotchkiss, Anna Cater, Sophia Wilbanks and Haley Chmelicek; and Anna Penning placed in Diamond, along with Aliyah Burtis and Sarah Nolting.
13 FROM MOSERS WIN MELCHER TITLES
MELCHER — Thirteen members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won gold at the USTA Power Tumbling meet held in Melcher.
Noa Marting, Ella Marting, Hanna Marting, Memphis Voelker, Maddesyn Demmer, Hannabelle Erickson, Megan Pierschbacher, Adysen Frieden, Alaina Mead, Savannah Freese, Taylor Mullis, Alexa Ries and Brody Ries all won titles while Emma Marting, Olivia Fangman, Lily Schmitz and Tucker Erickson placed second. Elizabeth Recker and Ella Vaughn finished third.
SWISHER'S JOHNSTON SECOND IN FCWT
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. — Ian Johnston of Swisher lost in a playoff to finish second in the 12-14 age division at the Future Collegians World Tour junior golf tournament at Saddlebrook Golf Club.
Johnston carded four birdies on the final day and finished 3-under-par on the last five holes to force the playoff.
His two-day total was 149 (75,74).
CRAG'S FOSTER WINS 4 STATE TITLES
WAUKEE — Alivia Foster of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics won four golds at the Xcel State Championships last weekend.
Foster won the bars, beam, floor exercise and all round in the gold division. Kori Lyle and Emersyn Secora were triple winners in gold, both capturing the bars, beam and all around. Lindsay Ginger (bars, all around) in silver and Jordyn Erickson (bars, all around) in gold were double winners.
Other winners were Chloe Pate (bars) and Olivia Lukan (beam) in silver and Maggie Schlamp (beam) in gold.
Placewinners were Lauren Miller and Hailey Carolan in silver and Hannah Behrends and Brooke Glasbrenner in gold.
