CRAG shines at Chows Winter Classic

CRAG SHINES AT CHOWS CLASSIC

DES MOINES - Megan Doyle, Alivia Foster, Riley Smith, Hailey Hakes and Sidney Davidson of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics won four events each at the Chows Winter Classic last weekend.

Doyle won the vault, bars, floor exercise and all around in Xcel Silver and Foster captured the vault, bars, floor and all around in Xcel Gold.

Smith, Hakes and Davidson swept the vault, bars, floor exercise and all around in Level 7. Lauren Miller won the beam, floor and all around Xcel Silver, Emersyn Secora the vault and all around in Gold. Hailey Carolan (bars) and Alexis Spence (bars) also won in Gold.

Jenna Danninger won the bars, floor and all around in Level 9 and Autumn Poston the beam and all around in Level 6. Anna Weaver (beam) and Maanasa Chinnakonda (beam) won in Level 6 and 7, respectively.

Xcel placewinners were Ashleigh Dunham, Karli Michael, Amara Isaac and Adyson Duroe in Silver, Gracie Drury, Maggie Schlamp, Hannah Behrends and Kori Lyle in Gold. Allison Hayes, Shea Johnson, Lexie Goldsmith and Jaeden Humphries were placewinners in Level 6, Megan Norris Ava Andrews, Natalie Freesman and Jenna Carney in Level 7, Carly Mark, Lauren Fruehling and Kyleigh Garcia in Level 9, and Kareena McSweeney in Level 10.

AT the Meet Me in St. Louis meet earlier this month, Smith won the beam and all around, Andrews captured the beam in Level 7, McSweeney the bars in Level 10. Madilyn Tumilty in Level 6, Davidson in Level 7 and Mark and Fruehling in Level 9 all earned top three finishes.

SWART, JONES PLACE IN CHICAGO

CHICAGO - Laura Swart and Ellie Jones of Somersaults Gymnastics placed last weekend at the Legacy Elite Winter Classic.

Swart placed in the vault and beam, Jones the vault.

KIDS FIRST'S HARRIS WINS AT CHOWS

DES MOINES - Adaiya Harris of Kids First Gymnastics won the bars and all round in Xcel Silver at the Chows Winter Classic last weekend.

Ava Czarnecki won the bars in silver and Ava McMenomy won the bars in Level 4.

Kids First placewinners were Eva Sanchez-Masi, Isabel Poggenklass and Reese Kendall in Silver, Ella Rieck in Level 4, and Ella Harmening in Level 7.

8 WIN FREE THROW TITLES AT 909

CEDAR RAPIDS - Aiden Yamilkoski, Kyla Mason, Cooper Schenck, Syd Mitvaksky, Landon Eidahl, Isabel Gomex, Matthew Schmit and Jazmine Yamilkoski all won titles at the Knights of Columbus 909 regional free throw contest at Regis Middle School.

The eight advance to the District 31 Championships, Jan. 29 at LaSalle.
