Area gymnasts shine at Spooktacular

GILBERT, NETZ SHINE FOR TWISTERS

WATERLOO - Shandin Gilbert and Evalee Netz of the Cedar Rapids Twisters gymnastics club were multiple winners at the recent Ruby Spooktacular meet.

Both in Level 3, Gilbert won the vault, bars, beam and all around while Netz captured the bars, beam and all around. Other Level 3 winners were Samantha Schoff (vault), Sydney Huber (floor) and Loran Hungate (vault), Top three placewinensr were Kelsey Klesner, Kira Klesner, Kinley Claypool and Ava Gunsolly.

Twisters' Payton Basquin won the bars in Level 4 while Ava VanBerkum, Alyssa Niemeier, Kylie Link, Peyton Krotz and McKenna Haugen placed.

Lacey Neighbor (vault), Reese Miller (floor) and Elyssa MacCormick (beam) won in Level 5 with Reese Wilson, Elizabeth Tanner and Corrin Williams all placing.

10 MOSER ATHLETES WIN TUMBLING TITLES

WOODHULL, Ill. - Ten members of the Moser School of Dance and Gymnastic won titles at the USTA Power Tumbling meet recently.

Moser winners were Memphis Voelker, Noa Marting, Emma Marting, Melanie Lutgen, Kennedi Bevans, Grace Funke, Savannah Freese, Miley Walz, Alexa Ries and Paul Morris.

Ella Marting finished second, along with Rachel Clayberg, Megan Pierschbacher, Nora Sperfslage, Brody Ries and Lilly Shaw. Third-place finishers were Chloe Bennett, Kayla Felton, Hanna Marting, Mikya Britton, Brroklin Ante and Claire Jaeger.

SOMERSAULTS PLACES AT SPOOKTACULAR

WATERLOO - Three members of the Somersaults gymnastics team from Cedar Rapids placed the recent Ruby Spooktacular.

Emily Henderson placed in the top three in three events in Level 3, Ellie Jones placed in two events and Laura Swart one in Level 4.

CRAG'S GOLDMSITH, KIESEY WIN 4 TITLES

WATERLOO - Megan Kiesey and Lexie Goldsmith of the Cedar Rapids Association of Gymnastics won four titles each at the Ruby Spooktacular meet.

Kiesey, in Level 3, won the bars, beam and floor exercise, and Goldmsith, in Level 4, captured the vault, beam, floor and all around. Kennedy Ward (bars, floor, all around), in Level 3, and Hailey Hakes (vault, bars, all around), in Level 5, both won three events.

Other CRAG winners were Lillian Liu (beam) in Level 3, Kylie Henry (floor) in Level 4 and Ava Andrews (floor) in Level 5.

CRAG placewinners were Mackenzie Avery in Level 3, Addison Appelhans, Jaeden Humphries, Shea Johnson, Madilyn Tumilty, Sophia Liu and Autumn Poston in Level 4, and Sidney Davidson, Natalie Freeman, Emma Kelsey and Grace Walker in Level 5.
