IRVING, Texas - Former Nebraska defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh and Iowa State distance runner Lisa Koll have been named the Big 12 athletes of the year.
Koll is a four-time NCAA champion, with three of the titles coming this year. She won the indoor 5,000 meters and the outdoor 5,000 and 10,000 meters.
Koll graduated in three years and is in her second year of veterinary school at Iowa State.
Suh was the No. 2 pick in the NFL draft by Detroit after being named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy and winning several national awards. He graduated in December and recently donated $2.6 million to Nebraska.
Suh is the only Nebraska lineman to lead the team in tackles in consecutive seasons.
