Linn-Mar 58, 4A No. 7 Dubuque Hempstead 56
Linn-Mar got a road upset Friday night, taking down No. 7 Dubuque Hempstead, 58-56, at Dubuque.
The Lions were led by Trey Hutcheson with 18 points.
3A No. 4 Cedar Rapids Xavier 58, Iowa City High 43

4A No. 1 Iowa City West 73, Cedar Rapids Washington 50
The top-ranked Trojans remained undefeated behind 18 points from Patrick McCaffery and 17 points from Seybian Sims at Cedar Rapids.
Campbell Mitvalsky had 15 points for Washington (3-7).
Alburnett 77, Cedar Valley Christian 27
The Pirates sank eight 3-pointers in a home victory.
Marion 60, Clear Creek Amana 37
Maybe the Marion boys' basketball team is on to something here. A foolproof method to not losing close games is not playing any.
The Indians didn't play one Friday night, rolling up lots of points early and whacking Clear Creek Amana, 60-37. This was a welcomed relief for a club that has lost five games this season by seven points or less and four by four or less.
Chase Zielke hit a quartet of 3-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points for the Indians.

Then it was McTaggart's team that continued to roll.
Class 5A top-ranked Iowa City High stymied 4A No. 12 Cedar Rapids Xavier with its quick hands, forcing 25 turnovers in a 72-46 Mississippi Valley Conference girls' basketball victory Friday night at Ron Thillen Gymnasium.
