Iowa high school track and field state qualifiers moved to Friday

All track and field state-qualifying meets were postponed Thursday, and will be contested Friday.
The forecasted high for Cedar Rapids on Thursday is 49 degrees. It's projected for 61 Friday.
The postponements started trickling in around 9 a.m. Thursday, and the last ones were called off shortly after 1 p.m.
Friday's scheduled starting time remains the same — 4 p.m. statewide, except for the 4A meet at Iowa City High (5 p.m.) and the 2A meet at Panorama (4:30).
The top two finishers in each event are automatic state qualifiers in 4A, 3A and 2A. Event champions automatically advance in 1A. The rest of the field will be determined by at-large time/distance, with 24 qualifiers total in each event, in each class.
The state meet is next Thursday through Saturday at Drake Stadium, Des Moines.
