University of Iowa sets date for awards banquet

The University of Iowa announced the date for the awards banquet for the 2011-12 Hawkeyes wrestling team. The postseason team ceremony will be held April 26 at the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Coralville. Tickets ar $40 apiece and does include a meal.

The Hawkeyes just completed its second third-place team finish at the NCAA Championships in St. Louis. They had six All-Americans, including 125-pound national champion Matt McDonough, who won his second NCAA crown in three finals appearances.

HAWKEYES ANNOUNCE DATE FOR ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa wrestling team will hold its annual postseason awards banquet Friday, April 27, at 6:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn and Conference Center in Coralville. Tickets are $40 and include a dinner buffet.

Tickets are available through the UI Athletic Ticket Office at hawkeyesports.com or over the phone at 800-IA-HAWKS. The deadline for ordering banquet tickets is April 23.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton/Holiday Inn for out of town guests. Call 800-HAMPTON or (319) 351-6600 and ask for the “Iowa Wrestling Banquet” block. The room rate is $99 plus tax. Reservations must be made by April 13 for this rate.
