Linn-Mar defender Jack Ramsey and Cedar Rapids Kennedy forward Sydney Hayden were named Mr. and Miss Soccer by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association.
Ramsey had five goals and two assists and anchored the back line as the Lions went 16-5 and reached the state quarterfinals.
Hayden led a Cougars team that was ranked No. 1 for much of the year with 19 goals and 13 assists as Kennedy (20-1) advanced to the state semifinals.
Both athletes were major contributors to state-championship teams earlier in their careers, Ramsey in 2015 and Hayden in 2014.
According to the IaHSSCA, the award also requires academic excellence (3.50 GPA or above) and superb sportsmanship.
Ramsey was all-Mississippi Valley Conference the last three years and will continue his career at Drake.
Hayden received all-MVC honors all four years and will play at UNI.
