Transportation Commission to hear about Corridor projects in Cedar Rapids meeting

The Iowa Transportation Commission will hear about the proposed Tower Terrace Corridor and other transportation priorities in the Corridor during one of its rare meetings in Cedar Rapids today and tomorrow.
The commission will hold a public input session at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 12 at the Clarion Hotel & Convention Center, 525 33rd Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. The comissin will tour transportation projects around the area the previous afternoon and hold a discussion meeting beginning at 4 p.m. Monday, April 11 at the Hotel Kirkwood Center, 7725 Kirkwood Blvd. SW.
Scheduled speakers at the Tuesday public input meeting include Cedar Rapids Mayor Ron Corbett, Marion City Manager Lon Pluckhahn, Mount Vernon City Engineer Dan Boggs, Lisbon City Administrator Chris Yancey, Cedar County Engineer Rob Fanmann and Coralville City Engineer Dan Holderness.
The commission will consider grant applications from Hiawatha, Marion, Dubuque and Palo Alto at its formal meeting on Tuesday, along with a proposed grant default settlement with the city of Urbandale. It will also consider changes to carrier regulations.
