Palo gets $10,000 from Wal-Mart for business recovery

The Walmart Foundation donated $10,000 to the Rebuild Palo Fund on Friday.
The foundation announced the gift in a ceremony with Rep. Kraig Paulsen, R-Hiawatha, at Velvette's Hair Salon in Palo. The money will go to assist businesses in rebuilding after last year's flooding.
So far, $136,000 has been paid from the Rebuild Palo Fund to residents. Anyone from Palo who was affected by the flood could apply for money, and most of the funds have gone to homeowners.
