Nighttime road construction work north of Hiawatha will require closing the northbound Interstate 380 on-ramp at County Home Road/Linn County Road E-34 (exit 28) from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 9 and 10, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's Cedar Rapids construction office.
Motorists should follow the marked detour and take the southbound I-380 exit and travel to Boyson Road (exit 27), turn left on Boyson Road, and then left again to travel back onto northbound I-380. This project is expected to be completed Wednesday, April 11, at 8 a.m.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations can more than double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles and wear seat belts.
